"The Heart Behind The Aragon Foundation"

The Aragon Foundation was established in honor of Michael Aragon, whose life embodied a deep passion for music, arts, and the power of creative expression. Michael believed that the arts were not just a pastime but a fundamental pathway to personal growth, healing, and community connection. Inspired by his legacy and commitment to fostering potential, his family and friends created this foundation to extend that opportunity to young people in Marin County who face significant barriers to access.

Our journey began with the recognition that while talent and curiosity are universal, access to quality arts education is not. Many children in our community, particularly those impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), foster care, or socioeconomic disadvantage, lack the resources to explore their artistic interests. We were founded on the principle of 'equity of opportunity' – a steadfast belief that every child, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to engage with music, arts, and dance to develop their creativity, build resilience, and discover their unique voice. Through the Aragon Foundation, Michael’s spirit of generosity and his belief in the transformative power of the arts live on, enriching the lives of countless young people.
